lyrics
i’ve been a silent wheel of my own destruction
what could I expect if i never told them i never told myself
i had the oracle’s faith that if love could have me
you could be the one but the one would know me
you don’t know me at all
it took so long now something’s wrong with me
why does hurting you make me feel good
i wish they knew what you do to me
you always win you’re the perfect one
you always have the last word the hurtful one
you always win even when you’re wrong
i’ll wear the red letter a any price that i pay
couldn’t save the debt to myself you gave me
i owe it to the girls
all of the good memories find an expiration
in the way you talk to me condescension
not worth it at all
it took so long now something’s wrong with me
why does hurting you make me feel good
i wish they knew what you do to me
you always win you’re the perfect one
you always have the last word, the hurtful one
you always win even when you’re wrong
you need ego death not a new girlfriend
you say your mother called me a cliche
now that I’m evil I can say you treat her the same way
why doesn’t hurting you make me feel good
i wish they knew how you spoke to me
you always think you’re the righteous one
you always said I’m the damaged one
you criticize then apologize then you do It again
why does hurting you make me feel good

This album is an ingenious jigsaw puzzle of diverse musical influence held together by taut strings of raw musicianship. Appreciable on so, so many levels. The fact that it was assembled and memorized for one performance blows my mind. Stunning. I once sweatily and drunkenly hugged Ed after a show. I don't think he much appreciated it, but I wear it like a badge. albinobone
